Day 2 - Thursday recap from Rocklahoma

Day 2 of Rocklahoma is in the books! After a very rainy start the day cleared up mid afternoon but was still super humid all day. Jetboy and House Of Lords started the day however the first band I caught was Vain. They were actually a band I was looking forward to watching and I did catch most of their set and it did not disappoint. Its 4 of the 5 original members and they sounded great and played much of the underground classic CD No Respect. Enuff Z Nuff played next with Donnie back singing. Chip told me the new CD they did has Jake E Lee on guitar but he was not here. LA Guns was next. This was the new Tracii version of the band featuring new singer Marty Casey. Marty and the band sounded great, but there is a quality to Phil Lewis' voice I still miss with these songs. Too bad these guys can't mend the fence!

Dokken played next. Mix of new and old stuff. Did not see much of them as I was busy with backstage duties. I did talk with Don for a while and he said there will be a headline tour after the Poison dates. I'll see them in NJ at the show I'm hosting at Dexters next month. Sebastian Bach next up. Bas played an equal balance of new CD and Skid Row tunes which of course went down great. His band is strong and his voice sounded great. Really worked hard on stage. Finally Bret Michaels' solo. Fun show, mix of Poison, solo and cover tunes. Bret has never been more popular thanks to VH1 and man does he know how to work it! Spent some time on his bus pre-show and as always it was cool to see my bud and talk some football and music! An amazing scene these days wherever Bret goes, but he handles it all very well and is great with the fans. He also asked me to announce a cruise he's doing next year. More details soon. Stephen Adler was hanging backstage. Spoke to him and we will post that video soon. He is 30 days sober. Let's hope his latest rehab sticks. Sadly I'm starting to think the word rehab has become some sort of rockers badge of cool and many seem proud of it, but it does not seem to be taken very seriously by all.  I'll leave it at that! So far the turn out this year has not been what it was last year, but today (Friday) is the first official day so let's see where we go from here. Also the people here are amazingly cool once again and I can't stress enough how grateful I am for their support of me and what I do. Taking tons of photos with fans and we are also posting some of them on the site. Day 3 about to start. I'll try and post a couple blogs each day if I can.  Enjoy the exclusive video and info right here on the all new EddieTrunk.com! Today's highlights include Triumph, Extreme and Armored Saint. Just popped my head out the door. It is crazy hot today but no rain. Think I'd like the rain better!
