8/23/10: Had a great visit with Geoff, Scott & Parker of Queensryche after their NYC Cabaret show Friday night. They did the entire last hour and talked about the next Ryche album, 20th anniversary of Empire, 30th anniversary of the band, and of course the Cabaret shows. The next album will be a loose concept and maybe slightly more modern, but it's only half done. The Empire reissue is out end of Sept. They will play very early material to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band including "Queen Of The Ryche" next time around! I've had many emails about the Cabaret shows the guys are doing. I did not make it to the show but the opinions from fans seem to be very very different. Some said they loved it, others hated it. Its obvious after all these years these guys do what they feel and constantly change, something we talked about in the interview, so it makes sense that most fans won't like everything. I can't wait for them to revisit the early years soon! Thanks to the guys for making the time post show to come by my studio. Hear this on demand if your an AA Member of the site starting next week after the affiliates air.
Also getting very differing views on the recent Kiss shows through the NY/NJ area. Not a surprise there either. As I stated previous I can't look at this version of the band so I choose not to attend, but from people that did, the reports were very different litterally every other email! If you went and enjoyed it great, if you don't approve and keep going then your the idiot. I respect all opinions on all bands but I don't get people that bitch and then still go anyway, and then bitch more. Gene and Paul are going to do what they want with this band and it's legacy, and they have earned that right, nobody can argue that. If your on board with it enjoy, if not, move on. On another Kiss note the '78 solo albums have just been reissued on picture disc. Not exactly the same packaging as the original release but still cool to see again.
Look forward to seeing Aerosmith at PNC in NJ tomorrow night, I'll file a report when I do.
This Friday AJ from Twisted Sister and Mark and Peter from Accept in studio.
Tonight will be the final live Eddie Trunk Live on Sirius/XM until 9/13. Next week will be a recorded show and labor day Monday will be no show at all. When back 9/13 I'll have a special with Black Country Communion and more.
