8/20/10: TONIGHTS UPDATE: I will be live at 11PM on Q104.3 FM NYC and live online at www.q1043.com. Members of Queensryche will pay a visit to the studio following their show at Nokia in Times Square tonight. The Queenryche cabaret kicks off at 9PM. I'm going to catch a bit then head to the studio. Always fun to have Geoff and the gang in studio and we will also discuss the 20th Anniversary of Empire.
On the Sirius/XM side of things I will be live for the final time for a couple weeks this Monday, so lot's of calls and talk along with the tunes.
Just got test pages for my first ever book from the publisher to proof. To finally hold the pages in my hand is pretty cool. Another dream realized to have my own book coming out next year (March). Can't wait for you guys to see Eddie Trunk's Essential Hard Rock & Heavy Metal! So much more to talk about as we get closer to release and I'll share info as I can as soon as the publisher gives the okay. It will be loaded with text, stories and exclusive photos from over 35 of my favorite bands and more. And yes, live appearances and signings will happen when released.
Yes it's true THAT METAL SHOW is expanding to an hour! The new shows debut on VH1 Classic 10/16. Taping in L.A. late Sept/early Oct. Be sure we have your email registered on this site if you want the audience ticket request form. We are booking guests now and will reveal the lineup soon for season 6. Since we are now a 1 hour format we will have more than one artist in most shows!
Listening to the new full Accept. The guys will be in stufio next Friday night. Good to have the full final album. Will play some tonight along with new Maiden. Also have the 20th Anniversary of Pantera Cowboys From Hell.
Watched KISSteria the other day, which was a one hour pseudo documentary on the bands Australian tour. I say pseudo because clearly it was scripted to some degree like Gene's "reality" show, and no band does an international tour with no planning, but it was a fun show for what it was. Very strange to see Eric Singer in Peter Criss makeup begging Gene to sing "Beth", Gene saying he promised Peter they would not with him out of the band do the song, and now they do it? As usual all bets are off in the world of Kiss where anything is possible. This show also seemed to continue to somewhat set the stage for the inevitable Kiss lineup with no original members. No matter how you feel about what Kiss does or doesn't do, it's never dull!
