According to TMZ.com, Steven Tyler says he's been "married" to Aerosmith for 40 years, but this past year it almost ended in divorce.

The band is going ahead with a new world tour — but today at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Tyler finally admitted the obvious and said they were definitely livin' on the edge of a permanent breakup.

Aerosmith recently announced 11 shows for its European trip, with stops in Romania, Greece, Holland, Belgium, France, Italy and the Czech Republic added to previously revealed gigs in Sweden, Spain and the U.K.

There's no word on whether the band will re-launch the U.S. tour with ZZ TOP that was canceled midway through last summer when Tyler injured himself in a fall from the stage, which began a troubled six-month period for the group.

The singer subsequently announced his intention to take a two-year break from Aerosmith and focus on a solo project, which in turn led the rest of the band to publicly discuss getting a new frontman.

Tyler entered rehab in December for an addiction to painkillers, and his management and attorneys threatened legal action if Aerosmith went forward with finding a new singer.
