12/19/09: Snow falling here in NJ on a Saturday afternoon, the tree is up, the wife and kids making Christmas cookies, and I'm in my home office doing some work and listening to Thin Lizzy Live & Dangerous waiting for Saturday night football with my hated Cowboys playing. Good times! Hope you are also enjoying the ramp up to the holidays. Last night was a fun radio show loaded with classic 80's hard rock that we called the "Hairspray Special". It was cool to feature some bands and songs not usually in the regular rotation on the show. The playlist is up now. Remember this show airs next weekend on affiliate stations and AA Members of this site can hear it On Demand. Also a bunch of CD and ticket giveaways in this show. This Monday on Eddie Trunk Live on Sirius/XM I'll play a bunch of requests as well as some Christmas metal, take your calls, and have former record label exec Larry Harris live on the phone. Larry was the number 2 man at the legendary Casablanca Records in the 70's. Home to Kiss, Angel and others. He was actually in the room the night Kiss auditioned for the label in 1973! Larry wrote a great book on the label and industry at the time called "..And Party Everyday". We will get some stories and insights from Larry and give away copies of the book as well. Next Friday the Q104 live show will be the KISSmas special. Christmas night live in NYC on Q104.3 or online at www.q1043.com. This year the show was recorded due to it falling on Christmas. It will feature one song from every Kiss studio CD in order of release. Screw the R&R Hall! KISSmas is here! Been doing this show since 1992 and proud to bring it to Kiss fans every year sick of only ever hearing R&R All Night on the radio! Final special year end show will be 1/1 on Q104 when we look back on all the stuff that came out in 2009 and give you chances to win those titles.
We start taping new TMS shows 1/12 in NYC. Info on how to get tickets to a taping posted here soon.
Did you notice Rolling Stone Magazine listed the top 100 albums of the decade. Surprised not one hard rock or metal album? Shouldn't be, these are some of the very same people that control the voting for the Hall Of Shame. Really says it all huh?
