Great having Nuno and Gary on TMS this week. Great guys and I always thought they were a slamming hard rock band that should not be judged by the one ballad super hit they had. When Gary entered our set coming from the stands, nobody had any idea he would do that! Pretty crazy. Also, please understand that the show is called That Metal Show, but we feature metal AND hard rock artists! Clearly Extreme is a hard rock band, not metal. We cater to classic artists of both genres. It was fun seeing the guys weigh in on some other stuff as well. Here are some thoughts on topics in this weeks TMS:
Single downloads: I really wish people would buy full albums. To me its all about the journey an album takes you on. I want to hear things in sequence, full length versions, as the artists intended. Ipod single song mentality is having a negative impact in that area I think.
Jim and Don's Motorhead TV bit was funny. The guy ripping his underpants off stole the show! These guys are at their best messing with people in the field and everyone was a good sport. Look for another segment from the UK with Lemmy himself coming soon.
My pick of the week was Richie Kotzen. His last few CDs are unreal. If your into bluesy hard rock, great guitar, incredible vocals, check out Into The Black, Go Faster or Get Up. You can purchase at
www.richiekotzen.comTons of feedback on the throwdown in this show of Pantera VS Slayer. People shocked I was the only one who said Slayer and shocked at the audience response to Slayer. I agree. Pretty crazy. To me, nothing is more mean than Slayer.
