XM/Sirius changes, G&R, Satriani, more.
10/20/08: Lot's going on. First and foremost JOE SATRIANI is live in the studio with me TONIGHT 10/20 at 6PM EST on Eddie Trunk Live on XM 41! Look forward to talking with Satch and taking your calls. Speaking of XM I have been sent many emails about the recent changes with the XM/Sirius merger. As of now there is no news at all to report on my status and my show. Until further notice I will still be heard every Monday 6-10PM EST on XM 41. If anything changes or I learn anything new I will of course let you know. Also want to send my best to Boneyard PD Kevin Kash who will be exiting in the next couple weeks. Kevin was great to work with and we had some good times especially at Rocklahoma the last two years. Things are still being sorted out but I'm told Boneyard will continue to exist on the new merged system. Again, no news one or or the other on my show. I appreciate all the support and I will keep you posted should I hear anything that has to do with Eddie Trunk Live. For now business as usual on my end.
Last week I announced a possible "Mega" guest for my FM show. Amazed how many speculated it would be Axl Rose! It was possibly going to be Neil Peart!! Neil played in NYC this past Saturday, and after I had Geddy and Alex on the new TV show, there was a chance Neil would do the FM show but his schedule did not permit it this time around.
As for G'nR, if you recall last time Axl did come in it was not scheduled and was a surprise. Of course I would love to have him on again but that decision is of course his and his camps, not mine. Like everyone I look forward to the CD but the internet nuts have to chill. I love you guys for your passion for music but people are hearing things that were never said or just making shit up. Scary!
Did not make Overkill at Starland but did have Blitz on the show this past Friday. Frank from Tesla also called in and was great as always. I had a family commitment but heard Overkill was killer as always.
There is NO release date for a new Ace album! When there is I'll let you know. Hope to go visit Ace and hear the CD this week.
I'll be in LA for a charity bowling tournament for VH1 to raise funds for Autism 11/13 and do some press for my upcoming show for VH1 Classic with Don and Jim. More details soon.
