10/2/08: Check out the official UFO website when you get a chance. Really cool video of Vinnie Moore and footage of the band at Rocklahoma featuring my stage intro! Really cool. Its at: http://www.ufo-music.info/news.htm
I hear that Pete Way is doing better which is great news. Next year is this bands 40th anniversary, looking forward to some special stuff. There is going to be a pretty funny segment in my new VH1 Classic TV show when it airs regarding UFO and a tattoo. That's all I can say for now. Wait til you see this show and the latest hijinx from Don and Jim!

Speaking of "That Metal Show" on VH1C, taping two more new shows this Wednesday in NYC. We've moved the taping time back a bit for people who want to be in the audience but have work during the day. Enter for your tickets through the link on my home page. This weeks guests will include JJ and Dee from Twisted Sister and my good friend and metal fan Mike Piazza. Remember, episode 1 premieres on VH1 Classic 11/15 and will air every Saturday night!

Thrilled to announce a new city to add my syndicated FM radio show! Welcome KDKB Phoenix AZ!! The show will be heard on that great station every Saturday night at Midnight starting 10/11. So thrilled to be on in Phoenix which is a top 15 market and a great city for rock. So many rock artists live there and I can't wait to connect with everyone. Thanks to Steve King. Once again, my show is available for broadcast on any US commercial station, so if it's not on yours let them know you want it! Hope to add more great stations soon. More info on KDKB at www.kdkb.com

This weeks Q/syndicated show will feature new live interviews with Frank Hannon of Tesla and Joe Lynn Turner. Listen live Friday 11PM-2AM EST on Q104.3 NYC or online at www.q1043.com

So much talk about the sound of the new Metallica CD and what some feel (including me) that it is distorted at times. Interesting article I read about what is being called "The Volume Wars" where all artists are trying to do anything to make their CD's louder and louder. Even though I think the Metallica album is phenomenal, so far they are the greatest offender in the trend, pushing it to the point of distortion at times on the new CD. But it's important to note Metallica are not the only one doing this, even though they are by far the most extreme so far. Almost all the new CDs I've heard recently are totally ultra compressed and have almost zero dynamic range anymore. Now I'm no audiophile, but this is getting crazy. It's made even worse when played on a CD or MP3 player. It's really getting to a crazy level and I hope artists start to real it in a bit. Be nice to hear every instrument clearly and some of it gets really abrassive after a while. I love music loud as much as the next guy, but I think things are getting to a point where the quality is really getting lost.

New CDs from Tesla and Buckcherry are both killer. Neither band has ever made a bad CD in my opinion and the new ones continue that trend. Some of my favorite tracks on the Buckcherry include Tired Of You, Dreams, Don't Go Away and Fallout. Again this band has delieverd a kick ass album of tracks with great hooks that I'm sure will also have a long run much like the platinum 15 CD.

In the case of Tesla the new CD Forever More is the first album of new material with new guitarist Dave Rude, who fits in well. My favorite tracks include I Wanna Live, Breakin Free and Private Ledbetter (FINALLY A POSITIVE SONG ABOUT FOR OUR TROOPS!). Tesla was always one of the class rock acts to come from the 80's and I'm happy to say that has not changed. New CD out Tuesday.
