A day with AC/DC, more.
9/11/08: Jim Florentine and I had a great day yesterday in NYC with Angus and Brian from AC/DC (photo on the home page!). Shot an interview with the guys and it was a blast. This is the second time I have done TV with them. They were actually my first ever interview at VH1 Classic just before they went into the rock hall. These guys are two of the nicest, down to earth people you will ever meet. Brian has been on the radio show many times and is always hysterical. The guys talked about the new CD, the deal with Wallmart, the upcoming tour, and more. They seem real excited to be together and get back in action. First tour date in the US is expected to happen in Wilkes Barre PA in October. The segment we shot with them will be seen inside an episode of my upcoming new series on VH1 Classic "That Metal Show". I'll have info about the premiere episode and also how you can attend tapings of the new show in NYC very soon. Total honor to hang with the guys in AC/DC who are always so cool with me. They are simply one of the biggest bands in the world with demand for tickets and the new CD at an amazing level, but they are just regular guys, and that says so much! Look for Brian to be on the radio show closer to the new CDs release.
Tickets still available for the Mets cruise to Shea this Saturday. Boat sales at 1PM, game at 3:55. I'll be on board, playing hard rock and with some giveaways. Hope to see you and Lets Go Mets! www.rocksoff.com to get on.
As I am typing this on 9/11 wanted to send a special thought to all those who lost loved ones on this day 7 years ago. We will all never forget people that were lost and what happened on this tragic day and where we were when it happened. I was on vacation in Vegas and I will never forget the 6AM phone call from home saying to turn on the TV and how helpless I felt for my friends and family in NJ while I was 3000 miles away. I was actually scheduled to fly home that day from Vegas and ended up being stuck there about 5 extra days. My condolences to all who lost loved ones, and my eternal thanks to all those who keep us safe every day.
