8/19/08: Crazy show on XM last night. Comic Don Jamieson hung out and we had interviews with Heaven & Hell, ZO2 and Andrew Dice Clay. Dice is my all time favorite comic and we've gotten to know each other the past few years. He's actually a big XM fan and listener of the Boneyard. Dice said I was the only music DJ he listened to to hear what I say and for me, not just for what I play. That means a lot to me and I appreciate it. He also talked about opening for G&R and was as insane and over the top as you would expect from the comic king! He's add The Borgata with my VH1 Classic"That Metal Show" co-hosts Jamieson and Florentine this weekend. Wish I could go but my son turns 1 this weekend, so need to stay put.
Speaking of the new TV show, we will be shooting all new episodes of the show late Sept and early October. We are moving to a bigger studio then where we shot the pilot so we will have a large studio audience. Want you to come to a taping and I'll post the news here when I can with all details. Booking guests and making final details now, expect an announcement with more info after Labor day.
Speaking of TV shows, had the guys from the band ZO2 in studio at XM. Good guys I have known for a while. They have two CDs out. If you have not heard of them you will soon. They have a show premiering on IFC this Sunday night. Refereshing as its not a reality show. It's rooted in reality but is more like Curb Your Enthusiasm for a rock band. Really funny and well done with many special guest rockers making cameos.
Had a great chat with the Heaven & Hell guys. Look for the new CD sometime next year. Metal Masters going now.
Sebastian Bach had some interesting trhoughts about my recent interviews with him in the new Aquarian. Check out my response in this weeks issue! I love Bas, but man is he lost sometimes!
Many emails again about the GnR leaks. I know for a fact that these leaks are really killing the band and the plans to get this album out! They are a big reason for some of the delays and if they keep up they might kill this album all together. Every time somebody leaks a track it just sets everything back from a proper release. Enough already, especially if you ever want to finally see an official release. I am over hearing anything from this album or about it until its legit and out.
Speaking of G&R. Go see Bumblefoot and others rocking to help those with diabetes in Las Vegas this weekend.
Big fan of the Mike & The Mad Dog show here in NYC. Sorry to see this team break up but I'm sure things will work out just fine. Russo is coming to Sirius/XM. So if your going to make the plunge to satellite to hear Mad Dog get XM so you can also hear my show. Even with the merger there will be very few channels and shows heard on both Sirius and XM at the same time. Might be years before this changes. although Mad Dog will be on both, so come to XM to catch ET Live also!
Get so many emails still about Vito Bratta. Many more since he came to my 25th anniversary party with people speculating this might mean he is going to relaunch soon. Had Vito over for a BBQ this past weekend and I seriously doubt (sadly) we will see him play anytime soon. If that changes you will know, but he is simply not into the music business these days.
Got a call from Ace Frehley inviting me over to hear some new mixes of his album. When I do I will file a report here.

We will also be announcing a new station joining us soon. So many people ask me why I'm not on in Philly, or LA or Dallas or many other cities. You must understand, the decision is not mine. The station Program Directors have to want to air the show. It's as simple as that. Bug the hell out of them if you don't get it on your local rock station! Appreciate the help and support and appreciate the 12 or so stations that air the show now, including of course our flagship Q104 NYC. By the way congrats to all at Q104, it is one of the top 3 stations in NYC as of the latest ratings. Huge news and congrats and thanks to the stations former program director Bob Buchmann. Bob left the station recently and I wish him luck. He rescued my show and gave it a great home over 6 years ago when NEW changed formats.
