The big 44, this weekends shows, more.
8/8/08: So this is supposed to be a super lucky day. Guess I should go play the lottery since it is also my 44th birthday! Thanks for all the email and well wishes. 44! Where did the time go? I will celebrate the best way possible, doing my radio show tonight live from NYC. Lot's to tell you from the big 25th anniversary party and we will get warmed up for this weekends Priest/Sabbath shows in the NY area (I'll be at PNC for sure and maybe Jones also). What I love most about my birthday is it means we are real close to football season! First Giants pre-season game out of the way and the official kickoff a month away. I've been glued to NFL Network. If you are a big NFL fan you have to get this channel, awesome! Got a Giants 18-1 T-shirt for my birthday, very cool. By the way, if you are going to the Metal Masters this weekend and you want to see all four bands, get there at 5:30, that's when it really starts.
The response from people at the 25th Anniversary has been unreal. Everyone had a blast and is still talking about it and there has been some great press coverage. For me it was all a blur! I'm seeing photos with people I don't even remember taking and there were many I didn't even get to see or spend time with. What a night!
Weeks away now from the Rock The Bayou festival in Houston. I look forward to attending the last day and a half of this event. Great to see so many of these events pop up that spotlight the music we all love. I am hosting the event Labor day Monday with Twisted Sister and Bret Michaels to name a few.
Production for my new VH1 Classic show, "That Metal Show" is scheduled to begin in late September. One episode is done, six more will be shot. We do use a live studio audience for this and I will post the info on this site as to how you can come see a taping with me, Don and Jim when I have it. Details to come. The show will premiere on VH1 Classic looks like early October.
Finally, I PROMISE there will be all sorts of stuff coming to the site from the anniversary party. Just taking some time to get approvals on things and working on some tech stuff. The roast video shown on the big screen at the event will be on the site. You guys gotta see it, really funny stuff. Plus tons of photos, video and more. I promise, it will be up any minute if not already.
