7/24/08: Excitement really building now for the 25th Anniversary party. I was just at the gym (yes I go there believe it or not!) and was listening to my Ipod on shuffle and heard Priest come on and had a moment where I realised the magnitude of what will take place on 8/4. This night will be made even more special by the close friends and metal legends who have RSVP'd that they can make it. Geoff Tate and Scott Rockenfield of Queensryche are coming in from Seattle on their own dime to be there. Of course my good friend and co-host Mike Piazza will be there and I am blown away to announce Tony, Geezer, Ronnie and Vinnie (Sabbath!) will be in the house! Also members of Anthrax and Overkill are all in, and many more. This really will be an amazing night. I wish I could get you all in but clearly that is not possible. But you should know the Hard Rock is planning a red carpet entry so if you want come to Times Sq and see some of these legends in person as they enter and celebrate 25 years of metal with us! Many of the comics and artists who have been regulars over the years will also be there and my close friend of more then 20 years and a legend himself, Ace Frehley, is also planning to make it. I'll have plenty of audio and video on the site for those that can't get in. Also, if you won through the site you will be contacted direct via email. Due to security we will not be putting the names on the site.
Speaking of Ace, he is working on his new CD and hopes to have it out by end of this year. He invited me to his house to hear it. When I go I'll post an update.
Happy to announce that I will be appearing at the Rock The Bayou festival in Houston Labor Day weekend. At this time I am only hosting and appearing on the final day, Labor day Monday. This is a first year festival with a great lineup. Further to my appearence XM will be there all four days and be the official satellite radio outlet. I'll also be doing my Eddie Trunk Live show from backstage that Monday Labor day. More details soon and interview with RTB performers coming over the weeks leading up to the event. Another mention of my show and Piazza being the original G&R leak in the new Rolling Stone, but of course they did not mention the show by name. I usually kill RS and how they treat metal and their influence over the R&R Hall Of Shame, but you also have to give credit when it's due and it was about time they finally acknowledged Rush! Could not believe they gave them a story and some coverage after 30 plus years. Miracles never cease!
Thanks for all the congrats on the new VH1 Classic show. So many emails and questions. I have a meeting next week there and it will become more clear as to the plan on when the show will air and what the deal is going forward. Psyched beyond belief to be part of the channel again!

Just saw a cool new TV commercial for Reebok and the start of NFL training camp. Actually gave me chills to know the NFL is near (I am sick!). Real pumped for the Mets in first place, but there is NOTHING to me like football season. Can anybody lend me a few bucks to pay my seat license?
