Rocklahoma Day 3 - Triumph, Night Ranger, Extreme & More...
Just getting back to my room about 3am after day 3 of Rocklahoma. Really hot today, but first day with no rain. Triumph headlined and played their first US gig in almost 20 years. I hosted the bands press conference which they were late to due to their limo being pulled over! For only their second show back the band sounded great and put on a huge show complete with lasers, bombs and fire. You can still see the guys working out some stuff and learning to be a band again, but overall a great first step back. Set featured all the classics plus album favorites like Blinding Light Show. Looks like this reunion will indeed continue!
Other highlights of the day was a great set by Night Ranger. Really a great buzz hear from their performance. They were always great live and today was no exception. Even Nuno have them a shout out during the Extreme set. Speaking of Extreme they were phenomenal! Nuno is simply unreal and its great to see him wail again. Set was mostly the first 2 albums plus one new song. Thrilled this band is back and can't wait to see them again. Did not make it in time for Armored Saint but the people who saw them said good things. The surprise of the day was Kingdom Come. Lenny Wolf sounded great and the band was real good. Not many out to see them but I was impressed. Spoke to Joey Allen from Warrant. He told me the band is very upset about the recent debacle with Jani in Vegas. He explained Jani has been in rehab ever since and is expected to join the band and redeem himself on stage with the band Saturday night. Warrant is the headliner and the pressure is on. We will see soon enough If he makes it and how he is. Black & Blue is also playing today so they do have former singer Jamie St James on site If they need him. Also took a ride out to the camp grounds late tonight and watched Dirty Penny. A young band with an 80s look and sound. The real parties and what Rocklahoma is really about can be found in the camp grounds!
Photos and video of everything will continue to roll out on this site. Saturday recap coming soon.

Not sure how (maybe the heat) but I forgot to mention Living Colour in my original blog about day 3. The band was a great addition to Rocklahoma and turned in a really smoking set featuring many of their hits and some cool jams. Of course Cult Of Personality was the crowd favourite and Corey Glover went into the crowd to sing it with everyone. It was the original band lineup. I spoke with Corey for a bit and he told me there would be more LC your dates around the world. Good to have this band part of Rocklahoma this year. Many talking about how strong their set was.
