Keifer, Priest, and the continued cluelessness of Rolling Stone!
Sorry to hear the new that Tom Keifer had another major blow to his vocal problems and Cinderella have been forced to cancel their upcoming tour. Tom was on my XM show a couple weeks ago and was talking about how he has struggled with his voice. He felt he had finally turned a corner and was looking forward to his solo album finally being done and the live shows. Truly hope he gets well but this has got to be a major scare once again to his future as a musician. He was scheduled for my syndicated show tonight, but has obviously cancelled in light of this news. No idea what Lynch Mob and Warrant will do, I'm sure we will find out soon. Also will keep you posted as to what happens with the bands slot on this years Rocklahoma. News when we get it. Get well soon Tom! I'm hosting an airing of a Pearl Jam concert on MSG this Tuesday 6/17. Premieres at 8PM. Also Tuesday on MSG tune into MSG,NY for my interview with Rob, Glen and KK of Judas Priest. Premieres at 10PM and repeats through the next morning inside MSG,NY. I'll post it on the site as well. Remember this Tuesday is the day Nostradamus is finally in stores! Rolling Stone Magazine once again shows it's cluelessness and ignorance when it comes to the impact of hard rock and metal with the 100 Greatest Guitar songs issue. Sure there are many deserving songs and acts on there, but it's so telling what was NOT included over things that were. NOT ONE SONG from Kiss, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, UFO, Scorpions, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Rush, Motley Crue (and just about every 80's hard rock act!), and ONLY ONE SONG FROM BLACK SABBATH! Why am I suprised? After all, these are many of the same idiots that decide the Rock & Roll Hall Of SHAME. Just a disgrace. Many of the artists on the list would not have played guitar if it wasn't for bands like Kiss! Kudos to Kirk Hammet of Metallica who was interviewed for the list and says UFO was the reason he played guitar and they are his all time favorite band. God forbid they had a spot on the list! Total fucking joke, but again, I should not be surprised. I know these lists are done to cause debate to begin with, but the elitist bull shit approach to hard rock and metal from this magazine is a total disgrace as always. Do yourself a favor and buy the British mag Classic Rock, they get it big time! See you at Maiden in NJ and NYC. Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's. MEGA 25th Anniversary announcement on the site and on air next Friday at Midnight EST 6/20/08! ET
