3/25/08: Thanks to Ace Frehley who called in live to the XM show last night. Ace was on the W Coast headed to one of his solo gigs and gave us an update on his current tour (going well and will continue), being sober on stage, his solo album (out by the end of the year), and the recent controvery among Kiss fans about Tommy Thayer singing "Shock Me" (needless to say he isn't a fan). Ace also noted that he is playing on the same bill with Kiss this year in the UK at the Download Festival. Ace also mentioned he will finally have an official website up soon. Great response to this live exclusive on Eddie Trunk Live on XM.
Speaking of XM many emails and questions about the potential merger with Sirius and how it might have an impact on me and my show. First off I can tell you the last thing anyone is thinking about right now is my 4 hours a week! There is also still one more hurdle (the FCC) before the merger is official. If it does happen then we will see how everything plays out once the dust settles. I imagine it will take some time before any programming decisions are made. Cleary I would love to do more than one show a week, but again, it's way early in the game and nothing is even 100% official despite all the talk. A major hurdle was cleared but one more remains and it could still be a while before things are final.
Look forward to hosting the Big Noize show this Saturday at Dexters in Riverdale NJ. Glad to be hosting something at an event in my home state and this should be a cool show featuring my buds Joe Lynn Turner and Vinnie Appice, along with Carlos Cavazo and Phil Sousan. See you there I hope.
I have a ton of great new audio to post but everything is on hold until the new site is rolled out. It's taking some time but there will be many layers to the redesign and it will be pretty cool when complete. Want to make sure we make this site the ultimate rock destination! Thanks for your patience on updates.
Once again I'll be making an appearance at the annual NY Kiss Expo and Hard Rock Convention in NJ. I'll have exact info on what hours I'll be there a week or so prior and will post in this space. This is always a fun time and probably the place I meet the most listeners/viewers to what I do every year. It's a great time to hear everyones opinions and discussion about music and Kiss, buy some cool collectibles, and just hang with fellow rock fans. Advance tickets on sale now, win them on my radio show as well.
Upcoming TV interviews to MSG include David Coverdale and Ace Frehley. Details and air dates/times soon. Remember, go to www.MSG.com, click "programs" and click "MSG,NY" to see some of my interviews online anywhere in the world!
Lita Ford and Sebastian Bach the latest acts added to Rocklahoma. A major act to be announced soon. See you in Pryor OK in July!
