3/12/08: Sorry for the lack of updates on the site from my end. The transition to the new management of this site is starting and things will lag for just a bit until we get it all set. But once we do expect huge improvements! I have a meeting with the folks tomorrow in NYC to talk about all kinds of cool stuff you guys have been asking for from this site and we will make many happen. Thanks for your support and patience as we build an all new experience for visitors and work to make this the ultimate hard rock destination!
Can't wait for Maiden Friday night! Rare that I pre-record my show in NYC but I did this week because I have to see this entire show. Remember to listen on your way home after the show or while you hang in the parking lot. Lot's of Maiden tunes for your ride home. 11PM-2AM on 104.3! I will be all over the place backstage, onstage and in the crowd, so hope to see many of you. I will also have a new interview with the band on next weeks shows and listen for news Friday about more Maiden dates being announced. I'll also post the details here in the site. Trust me, more chances for NYC area fans to see the band soon! Also congrats to our on stage winners from ZZO, AAF and Q104. They will join me on stage with Maiden to sing backup on "Heaven Can Wait". Keep an eye open for us all during this song and thanks to Maiden for this exclusive super cool promo for me and my audience.
Lot's of mixed reaction to the Rocklahoma lineup. Again, I do NOT book this show. I do help as much as I can and of course host and MC it. I think it's a cool lineup and I'm not saying that just because I work for the promoters. There are bands to be added, sit tight for the full picture. Many have asked why an event doesn't happen like this in other cities. Rocklahoma works because it IS a one time gathering in a place that doesn't get many shows. Trust me, if it was viable as a touring festival it would happen. It works because it's a once a year destination that draws from everywhere.
Sad news that Eddie VH is once again "ill". I REALLY hope it is not addiction again of any kind. I truly dred the day I am doing a radio tribute to a living legend. Let's hope he recovers or gets it together soon. Hard to make sense of this if it is more substance isssues.
My UFO tour is starting to take shape. I'll be at the NYC, NJ (yes I will record my Q show that night, it is UFO!) and I just booked a trip to Chicago to see them in the city where Strangers In The Night (my favorite live CD ever!) was recorded. Still bummed about Pete, but this is still some of the greatest music ever in my book and I am psyched.
Tribute Wars scheduled for Highline moved to BB Kings. All tickets and guest list will be honored at BBs. Plenty more tix coming soon.
